Dublin Zoo Keeper Inspires Mount St.Catherine’s… 🦁🐘
23rd May 2026
As part of our Primary Futures project, we were delighted to welcome Cassie McMahon to our school this week. Cassie spoke to our pupils about her role as a zookeeper at Dublin Zoo, and to say she was inspirational would be an understatement. The children in Primary 6 and 7 were thoroughly engaged and enthused as Cassie shared insights into her daily work. She highlighted the importance of school attendance from an early age and encouraged the pupils to work hard every day, reminding them that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. Cassie prepared a fantastic presentation, including videos of her working with a range of animals, which the children found fascinating. She also brought along samples of elephant hair, tiger hair and monkey hair, which were a real hit with everyone. Our Primary 6 and 7 pupils represented the school exceptionally well. Their thoughtful questions and evident curiosity made the session even more enjoyable and rewarding. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Cassie for her time and for truly inspiring our pupils.
