Looking After the Baby 👶

23rd Jan 2026
This week in our Roots of Empathy session, the children explored what it means to look after a baby. Laura showed us what was inside her baby bag for Mollie, and the children were curious and engaged as they learned about the different items babies need to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. We talked about why these items are important and how grown-ups prepare when caring for a baby.

We also discussed teething and how it can make babies feel uncomfortable. The children shared thoughtful ideas about ways we can help soothe Mollie, such as offering comfort, using teething toys, and being gentle and patient. This session helped the children build empathy and understanding by thinking about Mollie’s needs and feelings, and how we can show kindness and care towards others.
