The children in The Meadow class celebrated a year long project combining business and life skills as they hosted their families for a 5 course meal.
Throughout the year, the children learned horticultural skills by growing their own produce as well as budgeting skills through their trips to the shop to purchase ingredients for their weekly cooking lessons.
The children planned every element of The Meadow Restaurant today. From the menu to the decorations and entertainment as well as taking orders and cooking everything from scratch.
They helped to fund this by holding pop-up business enterprises each term for example, at Halloween they baked and sold apple tarts and custard in the staff room and at Christmas they foraged items to make and sell potpourri at the Christmas plays.
They smiles and full bellies speak for themselves. We couldn’t be more proud of the wonderful people our children are. It is a pleasure to be part of their learning journey.
