Primary 1/2 had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine’s Day through a range of fun, hands-on activities with lots of cross-curricular links. In maths, we explored the concept of area by filling heart shapes of different sizes using a variety of materials, then carefully ordering them from smallest to largest. We also made our own magic potions, measuring ingredients with care and developing our understanding of capacity.
Creativity was at the heart of our learning too. The children created beautiful pictures and artistic designs for their loved ones, using different materials and techniques to express kindness and care. It was a lovely opportunity to combine maths, expressive arts and health and wellbeing while celebrating friendship and love. 💖
